The teams were both looking forward to the game today against traditional powerhouse of Victoria School, who have always done well to achieve the Top 4 positions in as many years. The game will be a test of the teams’ credentials as challengers in the coming season.

The ‘C’ Division team faced East View Secondary School in the friendly match today. The team started off slow and the opponents took advantage to take a 1 goal lead in the first period.

Catholic High’s B Boys’ floorball team were labelled “rejects” by the school’s other athletes when the team was formed in 2008. The team was even eliminated in the first round last year. But they came back and silenced their critics by upsetting favourites Victoria School 6-3 this year to become national champions.

The team proved to be a match against their older opponents before they lost the plot in the subsequent periods, losing 2-7 eventually. Joshua and Zheng Yang scored for the home team in the first period before their opponents equalized. The players were unable to handle the stronger opponents and the defence was lost at times. The team would have to work really hard in order to improve significantly from this game.

The ‘B’ Division team were up against Orchid Park Secondary School in their first pre-season friendly match. The team had just ended their previous season and the series of matches will definitely helped the players to gel together.
