VS vs CHS

8 July 2010 No Comment

The team went into the game today wanting to perform better than they did in their previous meetings against Victoria School. The coach outlined the game plan to restrict the opponent from passing into the goal area and the players were clear about their individual roles.

The first period was a tight one, with the Victorians trying to get into the game but found themselves hampered by the tenacious defence from the team. However, they managed to nick in an early goal and scored another one at the start and end of the period respectively. The team came close on several occasions but their goalkeeper was equal to the task.

The second period saw Jed took his position between the posts and with Victoria Schools getting into their stride, the defenders found it hard to stop their shots and ended up a further 5 goals behind.

In the final period, the players were reminded to stick to their tactics and they almost scored if not for the heroics of the goalkeeper again. Unfortunately, the opponents were much better and they added another 3 goals to their tally to finish the game.

It was a relatively improved performance and there were many things to learn from this match. It would be a valuable experience for the players and hopefully they will train hard and get better after this.
