CHS vs HYS
The players from Catholic High School were to face Hua Yi Secondary School today in a game which they have to win in order to keep their qualification hopes alive after the previous loss. They travelled to Coral Secondary School for their game again and being the first match of the day, the players had the luxury of having the court for their warm up.
The players did not take long to settle into the game as Warren scored within the minute to take the lead. Yu Ren was next to add his name to the score sheet with a brace on either side of a goal by Jie Ying. Warren completed the scoring for the first period 19 seconds from time.
National Inter-School Floorball Championships 2010 (‘C’ Division)
Catholic High School vs Hua Yi Secondary School
Coral Secondary School
26-0 (7-0, 13-0, 6-0)
The players were reminded to maintain their defensive focus and continue to keep shooting whenever the opportunity arises. Wan Terng drew first blood in the second period when he shot from beyond the half line following a free hit. The ball floated over the keeper into the goal and surprised even the coach himself. The period saw the team going on a scoring spree and even when the team was playing with a man down after Sheng Yen was given a 2 minute penalty for slashing, Warren, Yu Ren and Amos continue to score against Hua Yi.
Warren scored a total of 6 goals, with Yu Ren and Sheng Yen adding 2 a piece, on top of goals from Jie Ying and Amos, to bring the scoreline to 20-0 at the end of the second period.
The players were told to focus on the game and play the final period as though they were 5 goals down and also to not allow the opponents to have a single shot at our goal. It was a challenge laid down by the coach and the players duly complied. Selwin, Jie Ying, Yu Ren and Joshua scored in the third period and Warren continued to terrorize his opponents with 2 more goals to bring his tally to 10 goals for the game.
It was a good performance by the players in terms of taking the game to their opponents and not taking their feet off the pedal after being in a comfortable position. However, they have to be reminded that the defence was not tested at all today and they will have to really stay focused on the next 2 games if they wish to progress to the second round. This result would not mean anything as other teams may still do better than us. They would do good to bring this experience to the next level against their remaining opponents and make the win today count.

Got first infront of jie ying and yuren in this match.Wahoo 10!!Nice teamwork guys! Northland diden’t even get 3rd………….
at least 6 of my shots flew over the goalpost in the first period
Sob 2min
The keeper just stared blackly when i shoot.
this kind of shot would never beat Eugene….
Good game people. Way to GO….
Don’t know anything technical about the game but enjoyed anyway. Felt that our players tried harder this time; not letting go of the ball too quickly. Not much pressure from Huayi unlike Northland. Northland has a few fast runners and they seemed more possessive with the ball. I’ve always find that where ability is lacking, the undaunting spirit will bring us through. So, fight harder and good luck with the next game!
lols…..^^
Eugene says he wants to play forward lol.
