The team got off to a bad start, conceding within the minute after failing to close down the opponent. Bouyed by their early goal, they continued to press on and were rewarded again in the 10th minute. Jarryl pulled a goal back to keep us in the game before the period ended with a bench penalty to the opponent.

The bench penalty continued into the second period and we took advantage to equalised, courtesy of Darrell. However, the opponents did not let up in their quest for goals and scored in a 2 minute blitz that left the defenders stranded with 3 goals. Although Jarryl and Darrell continued their scoring streak, the period ended 4-6 in favour of our opponents.

Darrell was penalized shortly into the third period and the opponents made full use of their superiority in numbers to score in their powerplay. Darius added another goal for the team before we conceded 2 more goals in the final 5 minutes.

The team should have done better to prevent some of the goals. Not only they made it difficult for us to overcome the deficit, the goals boosted the morale and confidence of the opponents who were able to play freely thereafter. The team will have to work on strengthening the defence for the remaining matches.
