CHS vs SCS
The players were looking to make amends following the previous game and came to the court ready in their new jerseys. The opponents today was Swiss Cottage Secondary School. With 2 losses and a win, they would be looking to inflict some damage and try for a late surge for qualification. Catholic High School would need the win to keep their hopes of qualification alive, but this motivation will have to be translated on the court into some concrete results before it can be possible.
Samuel put the team ahead within a minute followed by Joshua with 2 well worked goals. However, 2 moments of extremely poor defending saw the opponents equalise in a space of 1 minute. Darrell worked hard to score a goal only for the opponents to draw level again just before the end of the period.

Swiss Cottage took a shock lead in the second period when they capitalised on a through pass to tap in a goal. Crenshawn equalised after bombarding their goal with shots but the opponents had other ideas as they took the lead back in with 6 minutes remaining of the period. Ryan finally drew level and a well taken goal before the end.
The third period began with Darrell scoring just after the start of the period. Joshua gave the team a more comfortable 2-goal lead with 5 minutes to go but an oversight by the coach saw Swiss Cottage took advantage from a time-out to notch another goal for a nail biting finish to the game. Fortunately, the players held the ball well to secure their slender lead in the remaining minutes to record the win over the opponents.
It was a poor defensive display yet again by the team and the result today did not in any way put us in a more favourable position to qualify for the second round. It remains to be seen if the players will step up to the final group game against Assumption English School.
