CHS vs TWS

14 December 2009 One Comment

The ‘B’ Division had another opportunity to play against a strong team in the form of Teck Whye Secondary School. With almost the entire squad made up of hockey players as well, they were technically and tactically very good. It was a good challenge for the boys to see how well they can match up in terms of the intensity and game play. The match was slightly delayed due to a traffic jam, but they finally made their way to the court for an exciting game.

It did not take long for the match to go into full swing. Samuel drew first blood with a swift turn and shot which eluded the goalkeeper. Darrell kept his composure to score after being put through with only the goalkeeper to beat to add to the tally. After the break, there was no slowing down of the pace and both teams went all out to try to score some goals. Teck Whye finally scored the solitary goal in the second period.

CHS Multi-Purpose Hall
4-6 (2-0, 0-1, 2-2, 0-3)

Darrell did well to intercept the ball and slot it with a backhanded flick intot he far bottom corner. Ryan scored as well shortly after by squeezing his shot through at the near post with a good through ball from Crenshawn. However, the Teck Whye players also scored 2 goals on either side of ours.

With the score at 4-3 in our favour, both teams headed into the final period raring to finish the game on a high. However, it was not meant to be as the opponents managed to score 3 good goals to take the game.

Although we have lost the game, the coach was happy with the sterling performance of the team. The only concerns are that we need to be able to deal with tough physical teams and maintain 100% concentration throughout the game. Nevertheless, it was an exciting friendly match for both teams.
