CHS vs SS

14 December 2009 One Comment

As we approach the last 2 weeks of holidays, it also mean that the season is drawing near. The boys are beginning to feel the toll of trainings over the past 2 months, but they have learnt much from the training sessions and friendly games. They were eager to play more matches in order to gain more experience and become better. Nevertheless, after a series of unbeaten matches, the ‘C’ Division boys were finally beaten today by Siglap Secondary School with a score of 5-11.

The opponents were quick to take the lead with 2 well taken goals by the end of the first period, while we were unable to make any headway. Jieying managed to pull one back in the next period, but the team was let down by some poor defending as they conceded another 2 more goals.

The third period was much better defensively, but the forwards were still not able to create enough chances. The floodgates finally opened in the 4th period, where Jieying, Yongli, Sheng Yen and Jiali got on the score sheet. However, they also left gaps in defence as the opponents turn up the pressure to put in 6 goals.

Although we were missing several players due to illness, it was still no excuse for such poor defending. Full credit to the opponents who played very well and we will definitely have to reflect on the mistakes we have made in the game.
