CHS vs BMS
With the season all but over, a victory today will put us at third place in the table, a consolation for our efforts for the year. Our opponents also faced the same circumstance and with nothing to play for except for pride. The first period began with Samuel scoring in the second minute with a testing shot that sneaked in past the goalkeeper at his far post. It was a surprise goal because the keeper was expected to deal with it comfortably. Nevertheless, it put us in the lead for now.
The error did not affect the players much as Bukit Merah equalised 3 minutes later after retrieving a loose ball from the half line and shooting into the bottom corner. They increased their lead shortly after following a bad pass by Derek which somehow fell into the path of their forward. Both sides did not manage to score for the remainder of the period.

Bukit Merah started the second period on a good note, scoring just two minutes into the game with a first time volley which gave Eugene no chance at all. They scored the fourth goal after beating Nigel to the ball and crossing for a forward to tap into an open goal. They continued to threaten our goal with more shots until the end of the second period.
The team finally scored in the third period after a through pass by Joshua to Samuel resulted in the Bukit Merah defender directing the ball into his own goal. Darrell then dribbled into the opposing corner and made a pass in which Joshua latched onto to send the ball between the goalkeeper’s legs for the third goal.
Samuel then threatened to complete our comeback by putting the ball into the top far corner of the goal with 5 minutes left to go. Sensing trouble brewing, Bukit Merah called for a time out immediately. It worked because with 3 minutes left on the clock, Bukit Merah scored the winning goal, courtesy of some poor marking by Derek.
And so the season has ended. It was a great learning journey for everyone while it lasted, but unfortunately, we were unable to take it further. Hopefully, this tournament taught everyone some important lessons in floorball and put us in a better position to fight again next season!
